GENERAL
DESCRIPTION
-
IBIS, the
Integrated Business Information System, is a software program designed
to provide small to medium sized businesses with a comprehensive set of
tools for organizing and managing their information needs. It is
designed to provide the power of SAP but at a price that small and
medium sized businesses can afford.
-
IBIS’ unique
properties make it comprehensive, easy to learn, and superior to
programs out on the market today.
-
IBIS will adapt
to your company. Your company will not have to perform major
reorganization to work with IBIS.
-
IBIS provides a
scaleable, secure, platform-independent business operations
environment, designed to grow with the needs of the business. IBIS
can support a beginning business with a single computer and grow to
handle multiple computers on various platforms at multiple sites in
different geographic regions. A plug-in architecture allows customers
to add custom functions to meet their special needs.
-
IBIS is not only
platform independent--meaning it will work on Windows, Macintosh,
Linux, or Sun operating systems--but platform interoperable as well. A
business can use any combination of computer types, while sharing
information effortlessly--in real time!
-
IBIS operates on
the principal that data only needs to be entered once, and is then
available across the system forever. No longer will a business owner or
manager have to pull a cash register tape at the end of the day and
then hand it to a bookkeeper to re-enter the data into another program.
-
IBIS gives
management a real-time look at the operations of the business, with
on-screen and printed reports, on demand or at scheduled intervals. IBIS
provides management with the ability to control function and data
access by assigning access rights to individual staff or groups.
-
IBIS operates on
the principle that a business's information is private; it can all be
stored on the business's own computers, and doesn't rely on some other
company's data server to hold sensitive information and keep it
safe. Unlike Web-portal technologies that leave all of a
business's data and software in a stranger's hands, IBIS gives a
company all the software it needs and real-time off-site backups that
remain under control of the company. If a company wants to use someone
else's servers for offsite back up, the product's built-in military
grade encryption means that no one can steal your data without your
encoding keys. The need to trust anyone else to keep your data secure
no longer exists.
-
With IBIS's
encryption modules, even remote access reporting is secure. IBIS
uses advanced encryption technologies, in a modular, plug-in framework,
to provide any needed level of security for client and business
records, making it ideal for use in medical and legal offices. Only
data which is currently needed for use is kept in unencrypted form. All
communication between clients and servers is encrypted, as are the
contents of the database.
SPECIFIC HIGHLIGHTS
-
IBIS handles
basic accounting functions, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts
Payable, inventory valuation, and basic cash management. It exports
data to QuickBooks, Lotus or whatever program your accountant prefers
to use. Multi-party billing, customer accounts, both internal and
external, are supported. Cardless accounts, using the integrated photo
library display functions, allow for high security credit systems.
-
IBIS provides
shipping and receiving functions, including support for partial
shipments, and asset management tools that give support for bar codes,
perishables, serial numbered items, bulk and individually packaged
items, and purchasing functions, including purchase order entry and
shelf-life item tracking, and vendor performance tracking.
-
IBIS provides
scheduling support for your staff, and appointment management for your
clients, as well as a general calendar service. Time-card data
collection is provided for basic payroll.
-
IBIS’ Contact
Manager module enables a business to engage with clients in any part of
the world. It can handle all 240-plus postal codes approved by
the United Nations and use 35 personal name formats. No other
software package on the market can duplicate these capabilities.
-
IBIS offers
customer mailing list maintenance as part of its comprehensive customer
database facilities. Multiple addresses for shipping, mailing and
billing are included, along with multiple email addresses and telephone
and fax numbers. Basic contact management functions are provided,
including scheduled calls and follow-ups.
-
IBIS is designed
for high reliability. Transaction logging and a comprehensive
checkpoint / restart capability are provided. Optional distributed
database support and automatic off-site backup provide an even greater
level of reliability.
-
IBIS achieves
platform independence and scalability with a Java-based, multi-tiered
client-server architecture and an SQL database for data storage. IBIS
uses a minimum of system resources, and will run on any computer that
can run Java JDK 1.1.8 or greater. It is currently being tested on
Linux, Windows, and Mac OS platforms.

Your Data is Most Valuable to You

|
An alternative to the ASP model
Unlike Web-portal
technologies that leave all of a business's data and software in a
stranger's hands, IBIS gives a company all the software it needs and
real-time off-site backups that remain under control of the company. If
a company wants to use someone else's servers for offsite back up, the
product's built-in military grade encryption means that no one can
steal your data without your encoding keys. The need to trust anyone
else to keep your data secure no longer exists.
IBIS is the perfect software
tool for all businesses to manage information. Targeted for small and
medium-sized companies, this product can also be used by large
companies. Its unique properties make it comprehensive, easy to use,
inexpensive, and superior to existing programs out on the market today.
Not only is it platform
independent--meaning it will work on Windows, Macintosh, Linux, or Sun
operating systems--but platform interoperable as well. A business can
use any combination of computer types, while sharing information

Introduction
|
Every Transaction Is Important
|
|
IBIS keeps a record of every
transaction, including stock movement, authorization for any cash or
credit movement, data access; and not just summaries or completed
sales. An individual item can be tracked from order, through receiving,
warehousing, storage condition changes, shelf time, return rates,
repackaging, etc. and at the same time know who did what, when, and
how. It allows for in-depth analysis of sales, inventory costs, or any
statistical data needed. And all this is available without any
additional work.
